( fr ) The Departed is a 2006 American film by director Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson. It is a remake of the popular Hong Kong crime thriller Infernal Affairs. The Departed's screenplay was written by William Monahan, who based it on the original script by Felix Chong and Siu Fai Mak.

jadelyne Hall of fame  TRVIA: Robert De Niro was first slated to play Framk Costello, but because of scheduling conflicts the roll was instead offered to Jack Nicholson.

jadelyne Hall of fame  You know it's a great film when you see it for a second or third time and it gets better with each viewing. The first time I saw it, I wondered what the hype was about, but having visited Boston and having gone out with a wild irish american, it got better with each viewing. I think this film will be more and more appreciated with time.
