Coraline is a 2009 animated 3-D stop-motion film based on Neil Gaiman's novella of the same name, directed and written by Henry Selick (“The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “James and the Giant Peach”). The main character, Coraline Jones, is voiced by Dakota Fanning.

Like Efficient and classic. Same duality between a sad reality and a wonderful, enchanted imaginary world where all childhood dreams would come true -albeit deadly poisonous. Remember the witch's poisoned apple in Snow White? Coraline could replace the Disney's fable with today's kids. But it is far more horrible, daunting and kidnapping-related. Dreary. Visually, it's a success although one can regret the old-style stop-motion animation style.

Interest Aesthetically wonderful...rarely have a seen such a wonderfully disturbing universe. However, I think the story lacks tension...or maybe its just that I don't really care for the main character...
