( fr ) Charlie Chaplin was an English comedy actor, becoming the most famous performer in the early to mid Hollywood cinema era, and also a notable director. He is considered amongst the finest mimes and clowns caught on film and his influence on performers in both fields is great.

aileenpio Hall of fame  I am studying the feature films of Charlot this semester, and I think he is a genius. It is much more difficult to tell a story through pantomime than through dialogue. His talkies are definitely weaker than his silents.
My favorite is City Lights. If you're new to Charlot, I recommend The Kid and The Circus because they're short and easy to watch.
