( fr ) 'Bachelorette' is a song by Björk, released as the second single from her 1997 album Homogenic. The song is emotionally charged and theatrical, following Homogenics theme of 'beats and strings'. The surreal music video was directed by longtime Björk video collabotator, Michel Gondry. It features Björk as a best-selling author who falls in love with her publisher. She is successful with her book at first, but as their relationship deteriorates, the popularity of her book plummets. Some of the story takes place on stage in a play, and also in a play within a play. At one point, the audience turns into plants.
